Red River 2025 Events #1 & #2

Ike Hamilton Expo Center

About this event

Red River Region SCCA welcomes you to our 2025 autocross season!  SCCA Solo, also known as Autocross, is a fast-paced motorsport where drivers compete to navigate a course marked by traffic cones as quickly as possible without hitting any. It emphasizes precision driving, car handling and agility over speed, making it a great way to learn about your car's performance and improve your driving skills. The "Solo" brand name is specifically used for SCCA Autocross events.

Red River SCCA is currently operating out of the Monroe/West Monroe area as our available autocross site is located at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, 501 Mane Street, West Monroe, LA 71292.   We are an official region of the national Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and follow the national SCCA Solo rules. You can find the 2025 Solo rules and other information at SCCA.com/pages/Autocross.

SCCA Solo/Autocross events are open to all adult drivers with a valid drivers license and an appropriate vehicle.  Adult ride alongs are generally permitted and minors are allowed after the appropriate waiver and parental permission forms have been completed.

We will be having two events over the weekend of Saturday May 31, 2025 and Sunday June 1, 2025.  (Future 2025 events are scheduled for Aug. 16-17, Sept. 13-14 and Nov. 8-9 with more dates as the site becomes available)

Saturday May 31, 2025 will be Event # 1 and

Sunday June 1, 2025 will be Event # 2.

You may register for one or both days.

Pre-registration on this site before 7:00 pm Friday May 30, 2025  avoids a $10 late fee and helps us get started competing as early in the day as possible.

You will be able to late register Saturday or Sunday on this site using your smart phone or computer.

We will accomodate late manual paper registrations the morning of the events but we can only accept cash or check.  We will also have weekend membership forms for late manual paper registrants.

Every driver must be a current SCCA member or must purchase a SCCA weekend membership at an additional cost of $20.  You will be prompted to purchase a weekend membership automatically if you register on this site.

You can avoid purchasing the weekend membership for this event and for any other SCCA solo event during your annual membership by purchasing an annual SCCA membership online at SCCA.com for less than $100.

We will take a 30 minute break between the "Morning" and "Afternoon" heats.  There may not be enough time to leave the site for food so everyone is encouraged to pack a lunch or snacks to get you through the day along with a cooler with plenty of non-alcoholic drinks to keep you hydrated throughout the day.

Make sure you have adequate fuel for your vehicle as your gas mileage will likely be very poor during competition.  I like to have at least 1/4 tank.  Each driver will have 6 to 8 course runs per day with each course run lasting less than one minute.

We will be in the direct sun for much of the day so consider loose fitting long sleeved shirts and pants along with a wide brimmed hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Please keep in mind that Red River Region SCCA is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and all of our officers and staff are unpaid volunteers.  Their contributions allow us to put on these events so that we can have a place to legally compete with our vehicles in a safe and exciting manner.  We are fortunate that the City of West Monroe's Ike Hamilton Expo center allows us to host our events on their property.  It is extremely difficult for us to obtain sites and we are very appreciative of their willingness to rent the site for our use.  Our contract with them does not allow burnouts, doughnuts, wheelies, loud noises or any kind of potenitally dangerous horseplay at the event site (and I would add on the roads and areas surrounding the event).

We do pay for the privledge of using the site and we also have per driver fees for insurance and sanction which we submit to the national SCCA.  Your entry fee is our only source of income to pay for these expenses and for the equipment the club uses to put on the event.  We need approximately 20 to 25 daily entrants to break even so there is little extra money available to purchase replacment cones and equipment.  However, we will gladly accept donations of any amount!

Event requirements

Drivers must have a valid drivers license.

Minors (under the age of 18 in Louisiana) must complete a SCCA Annual Waiver Minor and a SCCA Annual Waiver Minor Parental Consent form to particpate as a Driver, Worker, Crew Member or Passenger.  These can be found at the SCCA Online Store for SCCA members; non-members create a guest account to sign in.

Drivers and passengers each must have a Snell approved helmet dated 2010 or later.  DOT approved helmets without the Snell ratings are generally not acceptable.  We will have loaner helmets available.

Proof of SCCA membership (membership card or valid number) or register as a non-member and purchase a weekend membership for the events.  Registering online fulfills proof of SCCA membership.

Everyone entering the non-spectator areas (Drivers, Guest, Passengers, etc.) MUST sign the waiver form at the check in/Registration desk (or show proof of their SCCA annual waiver) and MUST wear the event wrist band that will be given to you after signing.  Minors under age 18 MUST have completed and submitted the minor waiver and parental consent forms in order to enter non-spectator areas.

The IKE spectator area is a large grassy area surrounded by a white fence/barrier overlooking the parking lot course.  Pets MUST be leashed and minors supervised.

Every participating vehicle MUST display its class and number on both sides of the vehicle.  These need to be at least 8 inches tall and in a contrasting color so that they can be read from 50 ft or more.  Masking or painter's tape works well.  For example:  CAM T 9 or FS 7, depending on your vehicle class and number.  Determining your vehicle's class is made easier using the online  SCCA Solo Classification Assistant at https://www.scca-classifier.com .  You can also view the current National Solo Rules & Supplemental Classes at scca.com/pages/autocross and look for the Rules link.

Your vehicle must be Tech/Safety inspected.  Your battery must be well secured, all wheel lug nuts installed and snug, brake pedal firm and brakes working,  wheel bearings must not have excessive play, all loose items removed from vehicle passenger compartment and trunk(s), driver floor mat removed, throttle return operating safely, class and vehicle number displayed on both sides of vehicle.  Tires must have visible tread and any other obvious safety hazards will be evaluated.  We do have sound level restrictions which are rarely exceeded by street legal cars with some sort of mufflers and/or catalytic converters.  Our site is within the West Monroe city limits and is in close proximity to several hotels whom we do not wish to disturb, so if your vehicle is VERY loud, you may not be able to compete.
